How long should it take?

Greetings all,

My partner and I have been in process for over a year and a half to become a foster home. I know we are sick of the answers that are being received for the licensing works in our area. Should we jump ship and change agencies or wait it out? We are at the point of telling them to forget it all together. Very frustrated in the whole system. Seeking some sort of advice.

Thanks

Bill

Call from former foster daughter/Reaching Out

I received a call this morning from my former foster daughter who is on her way from virginia to minnesota to a girls academy of some sort. she was on a contract at her group home and was doing ok. suddenly social services showed up and took her to the airport and to minnesota....this is coincidental to say the least. her court hearing is up next week. she dislikes social services and is NOT shy about speaking up to the judge as she did so last 6 months....i am concerned for her safety and wh

Finally Done!

I finally finished my home study!!! I am very excited. My worker kept emailing me with more questions for like 3 weeks before she and her supervisor were both satisfied. I am amazed at the depth they went into as far as my history. They even wanted to know why my parents divorced 23 years ago!! Why do they need to know that? I don't even know the answer lol. They were also obsessed with finding out what my nationality/ethnicity is. I dont know the answer to that question either. I am Caucasian a… Continue

VINDICATION FEELS TREMENDOUS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The allegation against me was UNFOUNDED. The process is crazy, but the agency did the right thing in deeming this UNFOUNDED. Due to my profession it could have kept me from practicing and I would have been forced to take matters further with the courts and the media in order to stop this "Witch Hunt."

They made the only decision they could.

Thank you for all the words of kindness on this issue that I received on several blogs during this stressful time!

Sincerely,

How long does it take for an allegation to be labeled founded or unfounded? Do I need a lawyer?

As I have written before, I am under investigation. The social worker came after 2 weeks of receipt of the letter. Friday of last week we learned about some allegation. She left and said she would be in touch. Said she was calling the MD and speaking to our former foster child. Asked many questions about his behavior and only a few about this medication thing ( too much medicine missing from the bottle 15 days after he was placed in his new foster home????????????????????) I called on Monday
