Daily Journal, Never Mind Which Day I'm Supposed to Be On...

I'm just not clerically inclined and can't keep up with myself. My daily (well, okay, every few days) journal will just be dated now. Besides, counting the days was making me anxious beyond healthy...

So today, D is supposed to come to see the house where he'll be living the next 120 or so as the courts deem necessary or advisable. I don't really get the whole thing but this kiddo comes from a family who loves him and he's been told he's going to live in a foster home for a few

beyond frustrated...............fingerprints!!!!

I'm attempting to get re licensed after moving in with my mom. I'm all clear.........but, mom can't get her fingerprints to pass. She is 87 and apparently, prints wear off over ones lifetime, so she keeps getting refused.

We've even driven to the capital, having her prints taken by the state patrol office there! Returned. Just like the sets taken by the local police station, and like the ones taken electronically.

We started the process in May of 09, and here we are in February… Continue

Daily Journal, Day 8

Been working all morning at making the little nests ready for my little kiddos and anxiously awaiting the final word. I thought the rooms were done except for making the beds but once I got in there realized there was so much more to do! Just taking a break before finishing up.

If we get O and F today, I'll have to stay home with them while Steve does the pre-placement meeting with D. He admitted last night he's very nervous. We're t

Daily Journal, Day 7 - wow, where does the time go?

Well, we're on pins and needles with emotional overload at the moment. Meeting with a possible new member of the family tomorrow at 3 PM and may have a couple little ones join us mid-day after a court hearing.

Looks like sweet little O and F will be finding a permanent home away from mom and family. While this is in many ways heartbreaking, we can only praise God they will be safe.

Mom did

Daily Journal, Day 5, I think?

I missed a few days.

It was a roller coaster yesterday, beginning with a migraine. Wouldn't you know, we got "the call." Our rep had a Hispanic pair, girl 8 (O) and boy 5 (F). I was ecstatic! Since the boy had uresis issues, I ran out to Target for mattress protectors, which I'd meant to purchase long ago and forgot.

These kids had been in FC for 1 1/2 years prior, due to alcoholic parents and physical abuse. The parent(s) had rehabbed and the kids were returned, only to have Mom or Dad or bot… Continue
