I have a mental image of myself as a stay-at-home mom. It is a false impression of myself because I have not been a mom with no job outside of the home for many years. I should clarify the fact that I am not currently licensed as a foster parent, but I believe that I will…

So my fd mother's rights have finally been temrinated and yes I am happy. Not because of my selfishness but due to the on again off again nature of her mothers affections towards the child. Mom just cant seem to stop drug abuse and finally just disappeared. (For the 2nd time in 1yr)! She has other family members who didnt step up until she came to my home (naturally) and it has been drama ever since. Mom's rights were just terminated last month and my agency has put in a petition for my…

The media and the Obama administration has recently focused its attention on the overmedication of youth in foster care. We believe we have the most insightful story on this issue because it's told from the perspective of a teen who has been there. Here is Anthony's story, originally published in Represent magazine, and shared on Huffington Post. We hope you'll add a comment if you feel moved.
"I Needed Emotional Support, Not Medication"
Anthony was put in a…
