Settling Into Unsettled 3.13.10

An emergency placement yesterday brought us two siblings from the Denver County system. R (9) and A (10) were picked up from school by a social worker without any warning whatsoever. One minute they're in class, the next in the principal's office being told Dad can't keep them anymore and they're going to a foster home.



A goes into shock - he can't quite process what he's being told.



R bursts into tears and is terrified.



Dad is a scheister, a drug

Homework Issues 3.8.10

A major issue we're dealing with now is homework.



Our "son" has some major learning blocks and hates homework. I don't know who hates it more - him or me. The battle that comes the minute I mention homework makes me cringe every day before he gets in the car.



It has to be done. His thoughts are scattered, he has difficulty writing and is very slow, and there isn't a single subject he really excels in, except perhaps gym. He was diagnosed ADHD and is on medication
